Flame retardants are divided into two categories: organic flame retardants and inorganic flame retardants. Organic flame retardants include organophosphorus flame retardants and organohalogen flame retardants. The representative products of organic halogen flame retardants are organobromine flame retardants; inorganic flame retardants are mainly various metal oxides. Characteristics of various flame retardants
Compared with organic halogen flame retardants, organophosphorus flame retardants are characterized by low toxicity, less smoke, low corrosion, good compatibility with materials, and dual functions of flame retardancy and plasticization. In developed countries and regions such as Europe and the United States, the market share of organophosphorus flame retardants is gradually expanding, and there is an obvious trend to replace organohalogen flame retardants. In China, the development of organophosphorus flame retardants started late and has a broad market prospect.
In the field of polyurethane materials, polyurethane soft foam flame retardant is widely used in daily life, including sofa, carpet, cushion, etc., and its downstream customers are relatively scattered; polyurethane hard foam flame retardant is widely used in industrial fields, such as building insulation materials, refrigerator, pipeline insulation materials, etc., and its customers are concentrated in Europe and the United States; polyurethane thermoplastic elastomer flame retardant is mainly used The fields include transportation, civil construction, shoes, fabrics and other materials.
Engineering plastics flame retardants are mainly used to make polycarbonate, nylon, polyester and other materials. Among them, carbonate materials are widely used in TV sets, computers and mobile phones.
